This beautiful coverlet is not for the faint of heart, but experienced knitters will enjoy exploring what can be done with short rows. Knit in garter ridge stitch, the scalloped edging is worked as you go.
Also makes a great lap blanket.

About 40″ in diameter in dk weight, 46″ in diameter in worsted weight.

Materials, Double Knitting weight: 1350 yds. double knitting weight yarn
Knitting needles size 5 (or size needed to obtain gauge); 1 stitch holder
Materials, Worsted weight: 1500 yds. worsted weight yarn
Knitting needles size 7 (or size needed to obtain gauge); 1 stitch holder
Gauge: Double Knitting weight: 22 sts., 34 rows = 4″ in pattern stitch
Worsted weight: 18 sts., 28 rows = 4″ in pattern stitch
